A well-written, straightforward and informative web page is the keys to an affiliate's success.
In an earlier blog entry I mentioned the basics about content such as grammar and search engine optimization.
There is more to what is written and how it's written on a website. Here are some tips to improve your content:
1. Stick to the facts: visitors that are there (on your site) to make a decision on products and services want to get straight information, not long sales pitches.
2. Be honest when do comparisons: this is also about facts, not made up information. If you have the time and energy, do actual comparisons and tests before you write about them. This way you will be able to write good and honest content about your findings. Your readers will appreciate it.
3. Keep it short: although people do their research, many purchasing decisions are quick. You can help that happen if the information goes through fast.
4. Make it easy to read: besides short paragraphs you can help the reader's experience with the right font size, font color and background color. Bullets and numbering also help to break up longer paragraphs.
5. Be positive: try to focus on the good features of the products/services that you are selling. That doesn't mean you can't say anything about negative characteristics. Just don't depress your readers - that affects their decision-making.
