Unlink with D-Link's i2eye

D-Link i2eye webcamThe problem with buying a new piece of hardware is that there's so much really cool stuff out there. For example, D-Link's i2eye webcam.

Resembling nothing so much as modern redesign of the ever popular retro hip flask, this webcam turns your computer-based voip internet phone into a video phone--or not, as the case may be. Because you don't have to hook it to your computer at all. What will they think of next?

Instead, attach your broadband connection to it's Ethernet port and plug the audio and video jacks into the your TV. No computer setup required.

There's an internal microphone and I'm really intrigued with the idea of a voip video phone for the living room. Seems a lot nicer for family chats if you can all just sprawl out across the couch, instead of crowding around the computer. At around $160, the price of this webcam has come down quite a bit. Enough to make it a serious contender.
