What's with the flat rates and slow payouts?
Tuesday, September 05, 2006
As an affiliate you keep looking around for the best payments and payment schedules while wondering why there are no incentives to do more or better. Most affiliate programs in the voice-over IP industry run on flat payment rates (often with the exception of deals for top sellers) while making no effort to encourage the average guys to sell more of the high margin services. And then you wait and wait for the 30-day payout. Waste management pays more frequently.
It's time to put some real effort in recruiting new affiliates and keep the existing ones happy.
You probably guessed it by now; voip.com is about to launch something new, something different and something better. I mean a lot better. But for now, I will keep you floating in the clouds at least until the new affiliate program goes live. Yes, it will pay more and faster.
Other incentives play an important part as well. Besides just offering great residential plans, voip.com is pushing hard to provide top features and soon a stand-alone softphone product. Affiliates also feel that they are a part of a larger network if the sales channels are broad, such as voip.com's program for traditional outside sales representatives.
