Squared away

Thanks to Everything USB for the Belkin In-Desk accessory heads-up. Looks like we're going to be busting out the hole saw, because we actually use those grommet holes, but this idea is just too good to pass up.
You know those holes that are supposed to be chock full of printer cables and monitor wires? Now you can commandeer them into being used as the staging point for the next generation of wire-clutter management strategies.
Otherwise known as: plug your stuff right into the desk. In Boot Camp, they forever burned into our psyches the concept that everything has its own, discreet place in the general scheme of things...whether it was the socks in your locker or your laundry bag hanging precisely 6 inches to the left at the end of your rack--life was better when everything was squared away.
Belkin adheres to the same school of thought. They've got two new products out that address the tangled mess of wires festooning most modern desks. Honestly, what do you have on your desk? Computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, voip internet phone charger, USB voip phone, PDA charger, iPod dock...it builds up fast.
The first is a four-port hub that you can easily plug your USB devices into. The second, an iPod charging dock. Both retail for around $40, but they're not quite available, yet. I guess we'll just have to wait on tenterhooks until Belkin spits a few more out. Filed under: Can't Wait.
