Voip passes muster

Again...The military has been dabbling in voip internet phone systems for a while now; first eyeballing it from afar and lately, using voip as an integral part of their in-the-field communications setups. It's pretty neat, really--instead of having to rely solely on radio communication, they just hook a voip phone into a Joint Network Node Terminal and suddenly gain the ability to easily send a call out anywhere they need to worldwide.
Apparently they like it so much, they're starting to roll out voip service on a more permanent basis, for military installations that don't have to up and move to avoid enemy fire. Why the move to voip? Essentially what it came down to was the same set of reasons most people and businesses default to: they wanted to save money, increase their communication options, use a system that can be configured easily, and of course, get something that scales well.
