How long does it take to get a dial tone at first?
After you’ve plugged everything in and powered up your voip.com phone adapter, it shouldn’t take long to get a dial tone. Wait until the green Phone 1 light on the front of your adapter is steadily lit before picking up the receiver and checking for a tone — it usually takes no more than 30 seconds.
