How do I resolve sound quality issues on my phone calls?
On the rare occasions that you are unhappy with the sound quality of your service, we offer the following recommendations:
- Make sure you’re not running file sharing, P2P, or FTP applications. Sometimes these programs can utilize all available bandwidth from your High Speed Internet connection; leaving none for quality phone communication.
- Check that your equipment is not too close to other equipment that may be causing interference or overheating. For example: On some cordless phones, microwave oven usage may cause significant interference.
- If you are using a router, try plugging your phone adapter directly into your Internet connection. This will help determine if there is an issue with your other equipment.
- Reboot your Internet devices (such as your phone adapter, your computer, and your Internet modem)
- Check your bandwidth with a speed-tester
