Will my old phone company automatically cancel my account after my number is ported?
Sometimes. It depends on the provider. Most phone companies will deactivate your account as soon as your number is successfully transferred, but it's always a good idea to contact your previous provider and make sure everything's been disconnected.
Remember; don't cancel your service until after your number has been successfully ported; otherwise you may not be able to keep your number.
