What is the USF Tax?

As of September 12th 2007 voip.com has added a required Universal Service Fee that will be paid to the FCC. The Universal Tax is 5.11% and will be added to your bill. What is the Universal Service Fee? The FCC requires that we collect a tax that will help make phone service affordable and available to all Americans.
