How do I use the Block Caller ID Outbound Feature?
By activating the Block Caller ID Outbound feature, you will persistently block your ID (name and phone number) when calling someone. The party you call will see Anonymous or Private Caller on their display screen. While this feature is activated (on), you may override this block by dialing *65 plus the phone number. This star code will display your ID for that call only.
Block Caller ID Outbound is programmed from your website control panel.
Program Block Caller ID Outbound from the Website Control Panel
- Login to your account
- Click the Call Features tab
- Check the box next to Block Caller ID Outbound to activate this feature (remove the checkmark to deactivate the feature)
- Click the Save Changes button
When this feature is activated, all outgoing calls will be displayed as Private, Unavailable, or Anonymous to the incoming Caller ID display. There may be times when you will need to temporarily allow your name and number to be displayed. You may temporarily override this block by dialing *65 plus the phone number. The *65 star code will display your ID for that call only.
When using this feature, please make sure you dial the number as 1 + area code + number.
NOTE: If you only wish to prevent (or hide) your identity for a single call, you can dial *67, a brief announcement will confirm that your caller id has been, then dial your outgoing number. This will prevent your name and number from being displayed for that call only.
