Updating your router’s firmware
Periodically, you may need to update your router’s firmware to take advantage of performance boosts or fix undesirable hangs and slowdowns. Firmware updates are generally free and can be downloaded directly from the manufacturer’s website. It’s a good idea to save your System settings and a copy of the old firmware before updating to the new version—that way if anything goes wrong, you can revert to what you had before.
